Introduction: Acne vulgaris is the most typical disorder affecting adolescents. Heritability 80% in first-degree relatives. Insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) structurally and functionally related to insulin. It consists of about 195 amino acids located on cytogenetic band 12q23.2. Studies have shown an association between IGF-1 signaling which plays a role acne by levels androgen metabolism. Variability shows genetic regulation. There functional relationship IGF (CA19) polymorphism levels. varied incidences needs further probing. Objectives: To determine gene frequency Pakistani population compare this cases controls. Methodology: Case-control study Dermatology Department, Mayo Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan. Two hundred seventy patients 80 age gender-matched controls were recruited non-probability purposive sampling.
